Speak in Marathi, shops name in Marathi necessary : Dev
Nashik, Sep 12 (UNI) Veteran Hindi and Marathi film actor Ramesh Dev today indirectly supported the stands of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Shiv Sena (SS) about use of Marathi in the state.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Dev said he was not supporting any political party, but every state across India has the signboards in their local language as well as the people residing in these states speak in that tongue and the same is applicable in Maharashtra. There is nothing wrong in it. It is necessary for the people residing in the state to speak in Marathi and display the signboards in that language, he pointed out.
Replying to a question, Mr Dev said he did not want to comment on the recent dispute between MNS chief Raj Thackeray and actor-turned -politician Jaya Bachachan. However, Ms Bachchan unnecessarily hurt the sentiments of Marathi-speaking people with her remarks, he added.
