Six senior leaders resign from opposition party

Gangtok, Sep 12 (UNI) Six senior party leaders resigned today from Opposition Sikkim Himali Rajya Parishad (SHRP) citing ideological differences.

Those quitting SHRP were Biraj Adikhari (the party spokesperson) and the other five were from the central committee of the party.

'' We found ourselves ideologically incompatible with the party anymore which is confining itself on cheap issues and not on the core issues,'' said Mr Adhikari in a statement.

Mr Adikhari also accused SHRP president Dr A D Subba of not being competent to lead the party workers and Sikkimese people.
