Sitting JD(S) Legislator Siddaraju died
Bangalore, Sept 12 (UNI) Sitting Janata Dal (Secular) Legislator and farmers leader M S Siddaraju died in a private hospital here today.
He was 48. He was survived by his wife, one son and one daughter.
Mr Siddaraju entered politics by becoming Maddur Taluk Agriculture Service Cooperative Union. He had unsuccessfully contested against former Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna in 1989 Assembly election.
In 1994 election to the Legislative Assembly, though got ticket he donated it to Dr Mahehchand. He was nominated to the Legislative Council in 1997.
Mr Siddaraju had quit JD(S) and joined Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajavadi party and was District President.
In the political developments that took place after the fall of JD(S)-BJP coalition government, he rejoined JD(S) and entered the Assembly by winning the elections in May 2008.
Immediately after hearing the death news, a self imposed bandh was observed in Maddur and Shivapura as a mark of respect to the departed leader.
