Rs 415 crore Poverty alleviation Scheme in 6 Raj districts
Jaipur, Sep 12 (UNI) The Rajasthan Government has decided to implement Rs 415 crore poverty alleviation scheme for economic empowerment of over 73,000 below poverty line(BPL) families living in 1,040 villages in six backward districts of the state.
The scheme to be implemented in six panchayat samities of Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Pali, Jodhpur and Sirohi will be funded jointly by different agencies including the International Fund for Agriculture Development(IFAD), the Rajasthan Government, Sir Ratan Tata Foundation and local agencies, Government Spokesman and PWD Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore said.
The scheme which would be implemented between 2008 and 2014 would stress upon infrastructure strengthening and individual skill development programme.
The state cabinet approved the scheme for implementation yesterday, Mr Rathore said.
