More than 25 children fall ill after taking mid-day meal
Jamshedpur, Sep 12 (UNI) More than 25 children fell ill in a state-run primary school in the Narga village under MGM police station today after consuming food prepared under mid-day meal scheme.
Superintendent of police (East Singhbhoom) Naveen Kumar Singh told UNI that the children started vomitting after taking food in the shool, which was around 25 kms from the city.
They were admitted in the MGM hospital where their condition was said to be out of danger.
The maid who prepared the food said a lizard fell into the food during preparation in her absentia. She said she noticed it only after the incident. Police were investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, hospital sources put the figure of ill children at 40.
