K'taka: Ex- Minister Laskhmisagar passes away

died
here
today
in
a
private
hospital
after
a
prolonged
illness.
He
was
71
and
a
bachelor.
Lakshmisagar,
Advocate
and
Professor
of
Law,
was
popular
as
a
corporator
(1972-75)
known
for
his
simplicity
and
amicable
nature,attending
to
people's
grievances
round
the
clock.
He represented Chikpet constitutency in the Legislative Assembly for three consecutive terms-1978,1983,1985 and served as a minister in the Ramakrishna Hegde cabinet.
He held various portfolios including Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Housing, Revenue and Public Grievances and Urban Development.
He was imprisoned during emergency. Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has condoled the death of Lakshmisagar.
