Mumbai, Sep 12 (UNI) Both ferrous and non-ferrrous metals rose today on brisk buying support from stockists and bullish trend in the London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said today.

In ferrous metals, copper heavy and copper utensils moved up by Rs 500 per quintal each on good demand from stockists and ended at Rs 36,300 and Rs 34,100 per quintal respectively.

Brass utensils, which declined by Rs 100 yesterday, recovered by Rs 200 today on brisk buying support from bulk consumers and finally closed at Rs 25,200 per quintal.

Aluminium utensils also increased by Rs 300 to finish at Rs 10,800 on better buying support by bulk conusmers.

Brass cuttings remained unaltered on moderate demand from stockists, traders said.

An upward trend was witnessed in non-ferrous metals too.

After yesterday's steady mark, copper wire bar rose by Rs 500 to close at Rs 39,600 per quintal on better buying support from bulk conusmers.

Zinc slab also went up by Rs 200 and ended at Rs 10,300 amid renewed demand by stockists.

Tin slab and nickel cathode also rose by Rs 25 and Rs 5 per kg respectively on improved demand by bulk conusmers.

Finally, tin slab and nickel cathode closed at Rs 1,120 and Rs 1,040 per kg respectively, traders added.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 36,300, copper utensils - Rs 34,100, brass utensils - Rs 25,200, brass cuttings - Rs 26,100 and aluminium utensils - Rs 10,800.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 39,600, aluminium ingots- Rs 13,400, zinc slab - Rs 10,300, lead ingots - Rs 10,600, tin slab - Rs 1,120 per kg and nickel cathode - Rs 1,040 per kg.
