Fake passport racket unearthed; 12 held

Lucknow, Sep 12 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh police today busted a racket involved in making fake passports and arrested 12 people in this connection.

Superintendent of Police (SP), Crime Branch, Nidhi Sonekar said after receiving information that fake passports were being prepared in the Passport Office, the police raided the office and nabbed 12 persons.

The arrested, however, does not include any Passport Office employee, the SP added.

Forged documents, passport forms, fake stamps and letter pads were also seized from the possession of the accused, he informed.

The syndicate prepared the fake passports after getting done their police verification trickly, he informed.

Investigation in the matter was on.
