Srinagar, Sep 12 (UNI) The Education Department (ED) in Kashmir valley has asked all Principals and Head Masters of government educational institutions to take extra classes to cover the period which was wasted due to recent disturbances.
A circular issued by the ED said they have been asked to make good efforts to cover up the deficiency in the conduct of teaching-learning process which arrised due to recent disturbances, by taking extra classes daily in lieu of assembly and recess periods.
It has directed the concerned to ensure presence of staff in these institutions so that students receive education on various subjects during the extra periods and the syllabi is completed.
The circular adds that extra classes should be organised before or after the scheduled school timing and extra periods be carved out by curtailing the morning assembly, recess, work experience, physical education and music periods.
It also says that the unit tests be conducted with the routine classroom transaction to avoid wastage of time.
The officers have been asked to monitor the classroom transactions and submit the report regarding completion of syllabus and teacher attendance to concerned.
