Bajaj Engineering and Projects order book swells to Rs1000 cr
Mumbai, Sep 12 (UNI) Bajaj Electricals Limited's Engineering and Projects Business Unit has received two orders from the National Electric Supply Company Limited (NESCL) for the rural electrification programme under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Viyutikaran Yojana.
These two orders combined now make the order book of this business unit closer to Rs 1000 crore, which is a significant increase from last year's annual turnover of Rs 382 crore, the company said in a release here.
The larger electrification order is for the Murshidabad district in West Bengal. The job is to be completed in 18 months and will cover 1898 villages and will provide electricity connection to over 4,50,000 Below Poverty Line (BPL) homes. Each BPL home will be provided with the necessary metering kit and one 11W CFL energy saving lamp. The Rs 72 crore order is for Sambhalpur district in Orissa. This covers over 1200 villages and will reach 71000 BPL homes. The completion time is 18 months.
