Lepers take to weaving to earn a decent living

Dehradun, September 11, 2008 : In a bid to make the leprosy afflicted people self-reliant a Leper"s home in Dehradun has set up a small weaving unit so that its inmates can earn decent living for themselves.

These leprosy afflicted people who had been isolated from the mainstream society are now engaged in weaving handloom fabrics and are leading dignified life. The credit for this goes to the initiative of a non-governmental organization named Nav Jeevan Sansthan.
