Vedanti stopped from visiting Nawabjanj violence site
Gonda, Sep 11 (UNI) Even as the situation has limped back to normal after the recent violence in Nawabganj area, the district administration today resisted Sri Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas member and former MP Ram Vilas Vedanti from visiting the area.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Prashant Kumar said the situation was normal, however, Mr Vedanti was stopped from visting the area to maintain of peace.
The Nyas member had yesterday at a function in Kauriya market said he would sit on hunger strike, if the case against Hindus in this regard was not withdrawn.
On Tuesday, a clash had occurred between two groups of people, when Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal workers had forced some shopkeepers to close their shops, while protesting the attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Yogi Adityanath.
Both the parties had registered cross cases against each other.
On Sunday last, Mr Adityanath's cavalcade was attacked upon in Azamgarh. A youth had also died in the attack.
