Tanzanian Railways keen to buy RCF coaches
Kapurthala, Sep 11 (UNI) A delegation of Tanzanian Railways, which visited the Rail Coach Factory here today, has evinced keen interest in buying coaches from RCF.
Tanzanian Railways Director Siraju Juma Kaboyonga, who was heading the delegation, said the Tanzania Railways was interested in buying Quality Coaches from RCF because Indian Railways extended better maintenance support as compared to European and American suppliers.
The delegation was apprised of the infrastructure of RCF and processes being followed for manufacturing of coaches. It was taken to workshop and was shown stainless steel weilding process, robotic spot weilding process, laser cutting etc.
The Tanzania Railways director said he would submit his recommendations to the Board of Directors for purchasing coaches from the RCF.
RCF General Manager SK Suri said RCF has enough experience to design and manufacture coaches suitable for the requirements of Tanzania and can also provide operations and maintenance support at very competitive prices.
