Speaker adjourns Nagaland Assembly sine die

Kohima, Sep 11: Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie today adjourned the Second Session of the Assembly after completing all business scheduled for the Session.

In today's Session, the House passed two important Government Bills - the Nagaland Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2008, and the Societies Registration (Nagaland Third Amendment) Bill, 2008, by voice votes.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who also holds the Finance portfolio, presented the Nagaland Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2008, and informed the House that under the provision of the Constitution, the Bill had been introduced to make the payment of taxes easy.

State Home Minister Imkong L Imchen presented the Societies Registration (Nagaland Third Amendment) Bill, 2008.

Both the Bills were put up for voice vote and the Speaker declared that the Bills were passed.
