Search on for boys drowned in Brahmaputra

Guwahati, Sep 11 (UNI) The search for bodies of the three students, who were feared drowned in the Brahmaputra yesterday, continued today without any success. The police, river police and divers of the National Disaster Response Force were pressed into the rescue operation since late yesterday evening, with the operations resuming this morning. Downstream police stations have also been alerted to keep a watch.

However, possibility of any of the boys surviving appeared extremely remote.

The three boys, all students of city-based Cotton Collegiate School, had gone for a swim, skipping the annual sports meet at school.

Witnesses had claimed before the police that three other boys were also present but they fled when they saw their friends getting drowned.

The boys have been identified as Jyoti Kali, Lavajit Sarma and Diganta Rajbonshi.
