Raj asked to tender apology for tirade against North Indians

Mumbai, Sep 11 (UNI) Uttar Bharatiya Vikas Parishad president Munna Tripathi today demanded that Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray apologise for making unparliamentary remarks against North Indians.

Mr Tripathi said Mr Thackeray had made unparliamentary remarks against North Indians and other communities in the past on several occasions. ''If he fails to do so, we will start a peaceful agitation against him,'' he said.

Mr Tripathi said ''We respect the Maharashtrian culture and will continue to do so in the future also.'' He said the MNS chief should have taken the lead in laying the foundation of Marathi by sending his children to Marathi medium schools. He alleged that Mr Thackeray's children were studying in an English medium school and learning German language in junior college.
