Madikeri to celebrate Dasara in grand manner

Madikeri, Sep 11 (UNI) The Kodagu in Madikeri district is gearing up for the historical annual Dasara celebrations.

The 'Dasara Janotsava' attracts lakhs of viewers from other districts and states. Local people who stay in other places visit their native place to enjoy the festive atmosphere.

This year, the cultural programmes will commence from October one and a variety of cultural programmes will be organized daily in the evening from October one to October seven in the town hall.

From October seven celebrations will be held in Gandhi Maidan which will last till October nine the ''Vijayadashami'' day.

On October eight, the Ayudha Pooja day, decorated colourfull vehicles are taken around in the town.

On the October nine special musical performances are held throughout the night. People also move around the town to see structural tableaus depicting different mythological stories UNI XR SKB AKM 1713
