Low pressure continues, rains in coastal AP

Visakhapatnam, Sep 11 (UNI) Yesterday's well marked low pressure continued with widespread rain occurring this morning in north coastal Andhra Pradesh from Kakinada to Ongole.

An official of the Cyclone Warning Centre here said under its influence rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and at many places over south caostal Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely at a few places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period.

Strong surface winds from northerly direction with speed reaching 45 to 55 kmph likely along and off north coastal Andhra Pradesh and wind speed reaching 45 to 50 kmph from westerly direction likely along and off south coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

The state of sea was rough to very rough. Fishermen were advised not to venture into the sea, the official added.
