Haryana to procure Bajra from tomorrow

Chandigarh, Sep 11 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to commence procurement of Bajra tomorrow under Minimum Support Price (MSP) operations so as to prevent its distress sale and ensure MSP to farmers.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said instructions to this effect had already been issued to Managing Directors of Haryana Ware Housing Corporation, HAFED, CONFED, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation, General Manager Food Corporation of India and other officers concerned in the State.

He said they had been asked to ensure that Bajra procured by the agencies conformed to the prescribed uniform specifications of Kharif Marketing Season 2008-09. The MSP of Bajra was Rs 840 per quintal.
