Haryana to ensure regular water supply to Gurgaon

Chandigarh, Sep 11 (UNI) Haryana Chief Secretary Dharamvir today directed the police to ensure patrolling along the Gurgaon water channel and setting up of police posts for this purpose so that the water supply to the cyber city was not disrupted due to breaches in the channel.

Mr Dharamvir gave these directions while reviewing the present arrangements of water supply and the sanctioned projects for enhancing the capacity in Gurgaon, Sonepat and Jhajjar with the Deputy Commissioners of these districts through Video Conferencing.

He directed the Deputy Commissioners of both Gurgaon and Jhajjar districts to ensure that water supply in Gurgaon water channel be not disrupted.

He also asked the Gurgaon DC to prepare a contingency plan for meeting out the water crisis, in case the channel was breached as it was done in March last.
