6th Pay Commission benefits extended to Raj employees
Jaipur, Sep 11 (UNI) The Rajasthan government has decided to implement the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commssion with retrospective effect from September 2006 to ensure parity of wages between state government employees and the Central government employees.
The proposal of the Finance Deparment was approved by the state cabinet at its meeting held here this afternoon, state government spokesman and PWD Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore said.
Subsequent government orders and notification had also been issued paving the way for payment of enhanced salary from next month, Mr Rahore told reporters.

The new pay structure would give 30 to 50 per cent hike in pay and pensions to employees and pensioners.
While the arrears of 20 months from September 2006 would create an additional burden of Rs 5,768 crore and the reccuring additional burden on the exchequer would be Rs 4920 per annum, Mr Rathore said.
The decision would benefit around seven lakh employees of state government, worker charge employees, employees of panchayati raj institutions and three lakh state government pensioners, Mr Rathore said.
