20 feared drowned in Bihar

Seikhpura, Sep 11: At least 20 people, including 12 children, were feared drowned when a boat ferrying them capsized midstream in river Harohar near Baoghat under Korma police station here this morning.

Police said the ill-fated boat, carrying at least 20 people, capsized as it was overloaded and the passengers suspectedly drowned in the mishap.

The people were crossing the river to immerse the idols after the Karma festival.

District Magistrate Anjani Kumar said divers had been pressed into service to locate the victims, adding that further details were awaited.
