Two held for circulating fake currency
Karur, Sep 10 (UNI) Police have arrested two more people on the charge of allegedly circulating counterfeit currencies in the denomination of Rs 500 here yesterday.
According to police, Sheik Mohammed of Gandhigram near here was taken into custody for presenting a fake Rs 500 currency to an IMFL shop here.
During questioning, he revealed that a gang in Karur and Erode was involved in currency racket.
Based on his information, police arrested V Bhaskar (30) of Moolapalayam (Erode) and P Rajesh alias Karuppusamy (32) of Bhavani, and seized 126 fake Rs 500 currencies from them.
