Pension for MISA detenus in C'garh
Raipur, Sep 10 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh government has decided to provide honorarium ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000 per month and other perks to those detained under Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) during the Emergency, official sources said today.
A notification regarding eligibility and other rules of this honorarium named after Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Narayan has been issued.
People, who were imprisoned during Emergency due to social or political reasons for more than a month but less than six months, would receive Rs 3,000 and those, who were in jail for six months and more, would get Rs 6,000.
A four-member committee would be constituted in each district to verify the authenticity of the applications in this regard.
District Magistrate would be the member secretary while Superintendent of Police and District Jail Superintendent would be its other members.
The MISA detenus would be provided free medical facilities and the honorarium would be given to the widow of the detainees, sources added.
The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan also declared similar pension schemes for MISA detenus.
