Himalayan International to sell its products through Bharti walmart
Shimla, Sep 10 (UNI) Himalayan International Limited, an agri export company, will be selling its food products in india through the retail stores of Bharti walmart, an Indian subsidiary of US-based world's largest retailers Walmart.
In a press release, Himalayan International Limited Chairman Manmohan Malik said the company has signed separate agreements with Bharti walmart and its parent company walmart for selling its products and undertake ''cash and carry operations'' in wide range of products at wholesale prices.
He said that initially the company's products would be sold in nine Bharti walmart stores in punjab, including Patiala, Ludhiana , Amritsar, Jalandhar and Chandigarh. The Company's products would be introduced at all 100 stores of the Bharti walmart which would be opened at various places in the country till December next .
Mr Malik said the company would introduce its products at the Bharti walmart stores under the brand name ''Himalaya Fresh''. The company has fixed a target to achieve Rs 25 crore business transactions through Bharti walmart stores in india during the current financial year.
He said the company would initially introduce milk products like Himalaya yogurts, 'paneer', Italian cheese, bread and frozen apetizers , mushroom and packaged sweets at the retail stores.
He said the company proposed to set up milk based units with an initial investment of Rs 150 crore in Gujarat to ensure milk supply to southern and western retail stores.
