Woman held with coins worth over Rs 1.5 lakh

Kanpur, Sep 9 (UNI) The city police today seized coins worth Rs 1.56 lakh with the arrest of a woman in Fazalgunj area.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Ramlal Verma said Veena Bhatia, resident of Chakari area, was carrying about four quintals of one and five rupees coins in a gunny bag.

On interrogation, the woman confessed to the crime, saying she was on way to deliver the consignment to a trader in Delhi, he added.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against Veena in Fazalgunj police station.

Investigations continued .
