Water supply on alternate days in MP town

Shajapur, MP, Sep 9 (UNI) In view of scanty rains and successive drought-like situation, water supply on alternate days would be made in Shajapur town from the local Lakhundar Dam.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting presided by Collector Rajendra Sharma here yesterday.

''Paucity in rains triggered drinking water problem.

Hence, water in Cheelar Dam, the main source of drinking water for this town, has been reserved for drinking purpose only,'' he said.

At present Lakhundar Dam has storage of 3.501 mn cu m only though its total capacity was 30.65 mn cu m.
