Need to diversify activities of public sector undertakings: Dhumal

Shimla, Sep 9 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today called upon all the public sector undertakings of the state to diversify their activities and earn sufficient profit for their commercial requirements.

"There is a need to diversify the activities of the public sector undertakings to generate income not only to meet out its expenditure but also earn profit for further expansion of the organisation," Mr Dhumal said while presiding over the 220th Board of Directors Meeting of the Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDC) and 168th Board of Directors Meeting of the General Industries Corporation (GIC) here.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister stated that Himachal Pradesh SIDC has earned a record profit of Rs 10.95 crore during the financial year 2006-07 with diversified activities.
