Low pressure over West Central Bay

Hyderabad, Sep 9 (UNI) A low pressure area was formed over West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off North Andhra Pradesh and South Orissa coast today.

The weather office here said under the influence of the system, Southwest monsoon was active over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

Rain occurred at many places over Telangana.

Madakasira, Makthal and Tandur recorded a heavy rainfall of seven cm each.

The rainfall recorded in other places in cm included Hyderabad, Golkonda, Mangalagiri, Palakonda and Prakasam Barrage five each and Machilipatnam, Dharmavaram, Gooty Penukonda, Kaikalur, Muddanur Parvathipuram and Vikarabad four each.

It predicted isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and heavy rainfall over Telangana and Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours.
