BJP, Shiv Sena to stage 'morcha' on Sep 17
Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Sep 9: City BJP unit will take out a 'Jago Morcha' at divisional commissionerate, where the proposed Cabinet meeting is likely to be held on Sep 17, to raise the various issues of the Marathwada region, like load-shedding, unemployment, famine and suicides of farmers. Addressing a news conference on Tuesday, Sep 9 former minister Haribhau Bagade said around one lakh people will participate in the morcha. He said not a single decision taken during the last Cabinet meeting here was implemented so far.
''The number of farmers' suicides has augmented, while prices of essential commodities have increased. The shortage of fodder is grim. So, we decided to take out morcha,'' he said.
Mr Bagade said the party's national general secretary Gopinath Munde, state unit President Nitin Gadkari, Bhausaheb Phundkar and Eknath Khadse would lead the agitation.
Former MLC Shrikant Joshi, Mayor Vijaya Rahatkar, former mayor Dr Bhagwat Karad and corporator Bhausaheb Tathe were present at the briefing.
Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena will take out a 'morcha' to the Cabinet meeting in protest against load shedding. The office-bearers and MLAs of the party will lead the agitation.
