Women Organisations protest against minor girls' rape

Madikeri, Karnataka, Sep 8: Stree Shakthi and other women organisations Monday, Sep 8 held a protest against the rape of a minor girl at Napoklu near Madikeri. The protestors took out a procession in the main street of Napoklu and demanded action against the accused.

An old man Hassainar alias Acchavu molested the minor girl at Napoklu during last week and was arrested. His relatives attacked the parents of the girl at Madikeri, trying to force them to take back the complaint as they were taking the girl for medical examination.

However a group of people thrashed the relatives attacking the couple and handed them over to police.

The protestors alleged that the relatives are not arrested or a case is registered against them. They claimed that the minor girl is mentally not sound after the incident and demanded compensation and protection.
