Two group clashes over religious procession
Sultanpur, Sep 8 (UNI) Two groups clashed with each during a religious procession of Lord Ganesha in Dastapur town here today.
The incident occurred when people were dancing during the procession taken out for ''Ganpati Visarjan,'' when an elephant slipped of the rath and went into the Muslim-dominated area, police said.
Seeing the animal, which also symbolises Lord Ganesha, entering their area, they started pelting stone on people.
However, police quickly swung into action and passified the mob.
the situation is under control and large number of police have been deployed in the area as a precautionary measure, ASP (east) Santosh Kumar said.
