Siblings held for killing Maniullah in UP
Lucknow, Sep 8 (UNI) Police have arrested two brothers for their alleged involvement in the killing of one Maniullah during the violence in Azamgarh town yesterday.
State additional director general of police (law and order) Brij Lal here today said Pankaj Singh and his brother Dheeraj were arrested along with a 32-bore pistol used for killing Maniullah.
He said the situation in Azamgarh was normal and altogether 13 people had been arrested under section 151 of the IPC.
Meanwhile, police has detained 226 people for forcing people to close their shops in eastern parts of UP during VHP, BJP sponsored ' Poorvanchal Bandh' today.
The bandh was called to protest yesterday's attack on Adityanath's cavalcade in Azamgarh after which tension had gripped the town and lead to violence that had left one dead and three others critically wounded.
A mob had also torched about 12 vehicles, including five of the BJP MP cavaclade.
