Section 144 implemented in Basti

Basti, Sep 8 (UNI) District administration has implemented Section 144 of CRPC till October 20 in the district following yesterday's violence in Azamgarh district.

ADM P K Upadhyay today said the decision was taken to avoid any untoward incidents before the festivals, which are round the corner.

He apprised that under the section a group of five or more people are not allowed at any public place, besides carrying weapons or canes strickly prohibited.

No procession could be taken out without prior permission and any bid to disrupt peace and harmony would be taken high handedly, he added.
