Road network to be improved in Himachal
Dharamshala, Sep 8 (UNI) Construction of the roads was a priority for the Himachal Pradesh government and Rs 400 crore would be spent under Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojna in this financial year, in the hill state.
Food and Public Distribution minister Ramesh Dhwala, while addressing a public meeting at village Khalag in Changer area today, said that work on Khundian-Soharkala, Bari-Badoh, Galarh-Surani and Kandrad roads would start soon.
The minister visited the areas where loss of property and crops were reported due to heavy rains and storm in recent past. He said that through Central Underground Water Board, the check dams would be set up at different places for conservation of the rainy water to be used for the irrigation purposes.
Earlier, the Minister disposed of 65 complaints on the spot out of 87 at the Dehra Rest House this morning and rest were sent to the department concerned for further action.
