Punjab farmers told to obtain J-Forms from commission agents
Chandigarh, Sep 8 (UNI) The Punjab Government today appealed to the farmers to obtain J-forms from the commission agents in support of their having sold their produce to the agents.
An official spokesman said here that keeping in view of the likelihood of bonus being announced by the Union Government in response to the demand made by Food and Supplies Minister Adesh Partap Singh Kairon on the purchase of paddy this season, the farmers must obtain the J-Forms in support of their having sold their produce to the commission agents.
The J-forms would ensure that their names were duly entered in the official purchase registers of the Food and Supplies Department and Punjab Mandi Board.
The Food and Supplies department had made a similar appeal to the commission agents of the state to issue J-Forms to the farmers so as to help the Punjab Government in disbursement of bonus in the eventuality of it being announced by the Centre. The agents had also been requested to maintain a proper record of sale transactions of paddy during the current year.
