OPYC activists observe Black Day
Bhubaneswar,Sep 8 (UNI)Orissa Pradesh Youth Congress (OPYC), the youth wing of the Opposition Congress party, today observed a ''Black Day'' in all the district headquarters to protest the communal violence which erupted following the killing of VHP leader Swami Laxamananda Saraswati.
The OPYC activists headed by its state unit president Rohit Pujari marched in a rally here. They were blocked by the security personnel as they tried to march towards the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for staging demonstration.
The OPYC leaders held the state government responsible for the murder of Swamiji and the subsequent violence that surfaced in different parts of the state.
Shouting slogans in demand for the resignation of the Chief Minister, they also voiced the need for a CBI probe into the Kandhamal violence as well as imposition of President Rule in Orissa.
Later they quoted arrest while trying to break the police cordon.
