No contract system: TNLAEF plea to Govt
Tiruchirapalli, Sep 8: The Tamil Nadu Local Administration Employees Federation(TNLAEF)affiliated to the AITUC has urged the government to do away with its move to introduce contract system in Health Services Department.
In a statement here today, Federation President T R S Mani said a resolution to this effect was adopted at the general body meeting of the federation held here yesterday The meeting also wanted the government to appoint additional health staff in the Corporations and the Municipalities based on the population and area, fill vacancies only with those who had registered with the employment exchanges, make appointments on compassionate grounds and hike salaries of drinking water pump operators and sanitary workers in the 12,618 village panchayats from the present Rs 600 among others.
