EC consults political parties on J

New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) The Election Commission (EC) today sought to elicit the views of national political parties and state recognised parties of Jammu and Kashmir regarding forthcoming Assembly elections in the state.

The consultations were held during a meeting between the EC and representatives of national parties and state recognised parties of Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of seven national political parties, comprising the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (M) (CPIM), Indian National Congress (INC), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

The three state recognised parties included National Conference (NC), National Panthers Party (NPP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
