CODISSIA, ITPO ink MoU to condct Trade fairs

Coimbatore, Sep 8 (UNI) Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) and the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly conduct industrial fairs for the benefit of the surrounding industries in the area.

The MoU was signed by CODISSIA President K Ilango and ITPO Executive Director Rajiv Yadav at the CODISSIA trrade fair complex.

The objective of the MoU, for a period of three years was to jointly organise exhibition cum-trade fairs at the CODIOSSIA trade fair complex situated here.

The proposed trade fairs, includes energy and environment, healthcare, handicrafts and tourism. The revenue earned from fairs would be shared by CODISSIA and ITPO.

ITPO, a Government of India Enterprise, administers the largest trade fair complex 'Pragati Maidan' in New Delhi and organises some of the biggest trade fairs in the country.

Talking to newspersons, later, Rajiv Yadav said ITPO conducts fairs only at the national capital. With the signing of the MoU, it would help to conduct various fairs with International participation in the southern part of the country.

Conducting of fairs would help to boost the economy of this industrial city, he said adding institutions, students and general public would also be able to witness new and diverse trade fairs.
