CFD demands PM to declare VHP, BD as terrorist groups

Kohima, Sep 8 (UNI) Christian Forum of Dimapur (CFD) today demanded that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh declare Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal (BD) as terrorist organisations for their atrocities on the minority community in Orissa.

Joining the rest of Christians in Northeast, CFD, comprising all Christian denominations, had organised a prayer rally at Dimapur yesterday, where local leaders also participated.

They termed the violence in Orissa as 'a crime against humanity'.

Maintaining that peolple following various religions could co-exist peacefully, the leaders pointed out that Nagaland where Christians were in majority, has been living in harmony along with the people from other faiths and the same should be practiced in rest of the country.
