AP cabinet congratulates PM on NSG waiver

Hyderabad, Sep 8 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today hailed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the waiver secured from the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) for the Indo-US Nuclear deal.

A cabinet-meeting chaired by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy here said the bold initiative taken by the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance at the Centre would go a long way in ensuring long-term energy security for the country without compromising on national interest, Information Minister A Ramanarayan Reddy told reporters later.

The cabinet thanked the Centre for increasing the Minimum Support Price for cotton from Rs 1,800 per qunital to Rs 2,500 which increased to Rs 3,000 per quintal for various varieties of commodities, he added.
