AIG to launch mortage guarantee business: Wisner
Mumbai, Sep 8 (UNI) American International Group (AIG), which has a huge insurance and financial market guarantee business in India, will soon launch mortgage business in the country, AIG Vice Chairman and Former US Ambassador in India Frank G Wisner said here today.
Mr Wisner, who was here in connection with a session on the Indo- US relations, post the US elections, said the Company, which had launched the insurance business in partnership with Tatas, currently had ten businesses. It had 11,000 employees in India and the number was expected to cross 15,000 by the end of the year, making the Indian operations third largest, workforce wise, in the world.
He said the Company, which had presence in about 500 locations in the city, would add another 260 before the end of the year. The expansion was the fastest in India for the Company, which was currently ten-year old.
