Man, son feared drowned in River Irai

Nagpur, Sep 7 (UNI) A man and his son are feared drowned in River Irai in Chandrapur district of Vidarbha region, police said today.

According to police, Nagendra Kumar Krishnamoorthy (45), and his son Satish (21), had gone to the banks of the river to perform the post-death rites of a relative yesterday.

While immersing the ashes, Nagendra slipped and fell into the swirling waters of the river. Finding his father in trouble, Satish also jumped into the river, only to be swept away, police said.

Divers have been pressed into service, police added.
