Haryana police nab terrorist involved in attack on Ram Rahim

Ambala, Sep 7 (UNI) The Haryana Police today nabbed a Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) terorist who was involved in the attack on Dera Sacha Sauda head, Gurmit Ram Rahim in Karnal district in February this year.

The terrorist identified as Dharminder alias Pinda, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri district in UP was apprehended near Hathnikund Barrage in Yamunanagar district while he was on his way to his home district.

A special team of the police under the command of Ambala Range IG K K Sindhu manned the terrorist who was an accomplice of Bakhshish Singh, kingpin in the attack on the Dera head. He was later arrested and remanded to police custody till September 15.

Briefing mediapersons here, Mr Sindhu said about a dozen people including a woman had been arrested in the failed attack on the Dera chief in the last few months. However Pinda and Bakshish, both of whom planned the attack remained at large, he added, while pointing out that with the arrest of Pinda the police had achieved a major breakthrough.

In the attack while the Dera head escaped unhurt, several of his followers were injured when a bomb was hurled on his convoy from a truck near Karnal.

Besides Mr Sindhu, the other members of the special team constituted to prove the attack consisted of Ambala Headquarters DSP Bhupinder Singh, Karnal DSP Surinder Singh and CIA inspector Rajesh Kumar.
