CM reviews arrangements for 'pushkarams'
Hyderabad, Sep 7: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today reviewed the arrangements for the 12-day 'Tungabhadra Pushkarams,' commencing on December nine, with Ministers concerned, MPs and MLAs from Kurnool and Mahaboobnagar Districts.
Disclosing this to the press, Dr asked the officials to complete works like preparation of bathing ghats, connecting roads, drainage and drinking water facilities before November 15.
There was a proposal to spend Rs 130 crore on various works in Kurnool and Mahaboonagar District in connection with the 'pushkarams.' More than a crore pilgrims were likely to take part in the 'pushkarams' in both the districts.
The Chief Minsiter directed the Chief Secretary to hold another meeting with the Railway and the Road Transport authorities to provide adequate trains and buses for the pilgrims.
