BJP condemns attack on Adityanath's convoy
Lucknow, Sep 7 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) condemned the attack on party MP Yogi Adityanath's convoy in Azamgarh today, saying it proved that a poor law and order condition prevailed in Uttar Pradesh.
''Hindu's are being targeted by the anti-national activities,'' UP BJP vice-president Hridey Narayan Dixit said here.
The attack on Mr Adityanath has proved that poor law and order was prevailing under the present Mayawati government which always claims it to be otherwise, he charged.
Demanding action against the guilty, Mr Dixit said the party would not tolerate such acts.
Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister of State for Home Swami Chinmayanand, meanwhile, held the UPA government at the Centre responsible for today's incident.
''Had the Central government made efforts to check criminal activities in Azamgarh after terrorist Abu Bashar's arrest, the attack on Adityanath's convoy could have been averted,'' Mr Chinmayanad observed.
