Two nabbed with Rs 40,000 fake currency
Jalandhar, Sep 6 (UNI) Punjab police today seized Rs 40,000 counterfeit currency from two persons who were smuggling fake notes from Nepal.
SP S K Kalia said that on a tip-off the police nabbed the two men, identified as Arun Kumar and Rizwar, both resident of Betia district in Bihar, when they were roaming in New Dana Mandi here to exchange the fake notes and recovered fake currency of Rs 40,000 in the denomination of 39 notes of Rs 1000 and two notes of Rs 500.
The interrogation of the two accused revealed that both used to take fake currency from their partner Deepak, who was working with a gang of fake currency suppliers in Nepal.
The police has sent a team to Bihar to nabbed the other co-accused.
