Railways lost properties worth Rs 100 crore in Bihar floods
Saharsa, Sep 6 (UNI) The Railways has lost properties worth Rs 100 crore in devastating floods in Bihar.
General Manager of East Central Railway(ECR) Girish Bhatnagar told newspersons here today that tracks, bogies and other properties worth Rs 100 crore, were damaged in devastating floods in North Bihar.
''Rail services between Saharsa and Madhepura will be resumed from tomorrow,'' Mr Bhatnagar said adding the movement of trains between Banmankhi and Sarsi would start within a week.
Mr Bhatnagar said a culvert had been washed away in flood and its repairing would take time, resulting in delay of more than two weeks in resuming the rail services between Saharsa and Purnia.
The General Manager also inspected the relief camps for flood victims set up by the railways in Saharsa.
