One killed as truck overturned: Traffic on NH-2 disrupted
Singur, Sep 6 (UNI) The traffic on National Highway two was disrupted last night after a fully-loaded truck overturned and killed its helper on the spot at Ratanpur, two km from Tata's Nano project here.
Informing this, Singur police station Officer-in-Charge Priyabrata Bakshi said the truck lost control while speeding towards Kolkata to Burdwan and overturned, adding that the arterial road remained blocked till 0800 hrs today.
Vehicles are currently plying on a single flank of the highway in the vicinity because of the indefinite ''dharna mancha'' organised by Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee demanding 400 acre of land from the Tata's Singur project to the farmers.
